Involvements

Throughout the last four years, I have been involved in various organizations, honor societies, and other opportunities both within and outside the FIU community.

Starting in my sophomore year, I decided to join the Student Programming Council, which plans free events for FIU students. For my first year in SPC, I was a general member of the council, however, in my second year, I was fortunate enough to be chosen as one of two Engineering Directors. In this role, I worked alongside a co-director and orchestrated events at FIU's College of Engineering & Computing. This position provided me with the opportunity to develop my leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. I was also able to attend the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) 2019 conference in Chattanooga, Tennesse, where I was able to meet students from across the region and to participate in workshops on leadership, organization, and more.

One of my goals is to end up in Washington, D.C. in a career focusing on law, policy, and advocacy.

For my involvements, I have strived for them to be a reflection of my passions, such as politics, women's rights, and law. Recently, I participated in FIU in DC's Women in Politics and Policy Virtual Fly-In. This experience allowed me to interact with other young women, who are also striving for change in our country and around the world. Additionally, I was able to be exposed to a plethora of non-profits, federal agencies, and other opportunities in the country's capital.

In the Fall of 2020, I was a Student Ambassador for FIU's annual Women Who Lead Conference, led by FIU's Women Center. I was able to virtually assist conference attendees and to attend sessions, relating to leadership, diversity and inclusion, and women's empowerment.
